In a significant operation on Thursday night, the Delhi Police Crime Branch successfully apprehended two criminals, one of whom is the notorious international fugitive Miraj, also known as Mehraj.
The encounter took place in Dhulsiras, Dwarka, where law enforcement engaged the suspects in a confrontation, leading to their capture.
Miraj, a wanted criminal with an extensive criminal record, has been a subject of pursuit by authorities across borders for his involvement in various illicit activities. His apprehension marks a significant victory for law enforcement agencies combating transnational crime.
The encounter unfolded late in the night, as Delhi Police Crime Branch personnel, acting on intelligence inputs, cornered the suspects in Dhulsiras area. Despite attempts to evade arrest, the swift and coordinated response by law enforcement ensured the successful apprehension of Miraj and his accomplice
According to the police, the accused identified as Miraj alias Mehraj was wanted in a Rs.3 crore armed robbery case. He has been involved in five other cases of robbery and Arms Act and carried a reward of Rs.2 lakh on his head, said police.
Residents of Dhulsiras and surrounding areas have expressed relief following the successful operation, commending the efforts of the Delhi Police in maintaining law and order.
